Letter from the Section Chief
Philanthropy continues to play a vital role in helping the University of Chicago Section of Urology advance its research, education and surgical programs. Since Dr. Brendler and grateful patients established the RESCUE Fund in 1996, individuals have contributed over $4 million to combat prostate cancer and other urologic diseases. We are deeply grateful for all the gifts we have received and we appreciate your continued support. Through thisl philanthropy, we have expanded our laboratories, increased our research programs and recruited world-renowned faculty.
Through the generosity of the Fritz and Mary Lee Duda Family Foundation and hundreds of other grateful patients and friends, we have raised the necessary funds to start our Minimally Invasive Urological Surgery program a program that has become recognized as one of the most prominent minimally invasive laparoscopic/robotic surgery programs in the Midwest.
There are many ways to support our academic programs and I encourage you to read website for further information about our faculty and their important initiatives. To learn more about various gift opportunities, I encourage you to read our website and/or call 773-702-9757. Individual giving is critical to sustaining our place at the forefront of the urological care.
Your gift will have a lasting impact and I thank you for your participation.
Arieh L. Shalhav
Professor and Chief of Urology
